Sometimes we hit a roadbloack in our personal relationships where we just feel stuck and do not know how to move forward. People seek therapy to gain understanding and clarity surrounding an array of relationship conflicts. These conflicts can occur with a spouse, partner, parent, friend or coworker/manager. Some examples of situations which lead individuals to seek relationship support include:
- Feeling the other person is unwilling or able to hear or undersand one's perspective or feelings
- Years of conflict, which has led to great resentment and anger that feels just too intense to let go of, move past, or forgive
- Feeling disconnected, misunderstood, or disrespected by the other
- Feeling uncertainty about the future of the relationship
Relationship issues can be addressed in therapy in an individual or conjoint process and is determined on a case-by-case basis.
